Gino and Annalise made a bad day a little brighter. We unfortunately have a blockage in our main sewer line to the house just 48 hours after moving in. Gino and Annalise did their best to root out the problem, but due to it being under the road it will require a secondary contractor. They explained everything they were doing each step along the way and tried to be reassuring. When it became clear that this was a bigger problem, they put me in touch with a contractor who could take me from there. I highly appreciate the thoughtfulness and consideration shown in addition to the professionalism shown.

I had an issue with our furnace so I called Taku heating and plumbing. I was promised that the work would be done in such a way that his wife would be happy with it, and to be sure to have any questions ready. When Geno arrived, he asked me enough questions to troubleshoot the problem. He also answered all of my questions and gave me a comprehensive explanation of how the entire system worked. Our electric boiler broke on a Saturday and Taku Plumbing was out by early afternoon. Geno did some troubleshooting and narrowed the problem down to 2 parts. Unfortunately, those parts had to be ordered from the Lower 48. Once we had the parts, Geno was back out and he was spot-on with his troubleshooting. He plugged a new circuit board in and we had heat. The communication with Geno and Joyce (from the office) was great.

We needed a clogged drain cleared, it was beyond the capacity of our small home- owner snake. Gino from Taku Plumbing cleared the drain, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient . Unfortunately the clog was not actually completely cleared and we had another back- up that evening. Gino came back the next day and made it good, no additional charge. We truly appreciated his timely and professional service.

We lost heat to 1/3 of our house on in cold November. Taku Plumbing and Heating responded to my call promptly and scheduled a mutually good time for an appointment. Geno arrived on time, answered my questions, and and replaced a zone valve power head. Although this is not a complicated repair, I appreciated his answers to my questions, clear explanations, and efficient work. We've finally found our go-to plumber! Geno (plumber) and Joyce (dispatch) were communicative, friendly and patient. After striking out trying to hire out this work to other local outfits, Taku Plumbing was such a breeze to work with that we have already recommended them to family. We had some badly damaged waste pipes in our crawlspace that needed an overhaul along with a handful of other future projects we discussed during the consultation visit. Geno understood our somewhat urgent timeline and spent the better part of a chilly Saturday making sure they were replaced ASAP (timeline was urgent because we lost a lot of time trying to get three other companies to schedule the work over the course of a year). He didn't try and upsell any work or expedite unnecessary repairs, he advised realistically on the other projects we thought we needed to get done soon, and we were relieved when we were told what those projects would entail and how soon they would be needed so we can plan accordingly. We understand there is a labor shortage and an abundance of work, this is challenging for many to deal with, especially in skilled trades, but realistic communication helps both the customer and the prospective company to not waste precious time if the work can't/won't happen. From the first step of scheduling a consultation, receiving the estimate for that work via email and approving it, then the same process again with the work estimate, to the final step of verifying the the work was done to our expectations, there was no ambiguity. Their text/email reminders and notifications that the plumber was on their way were helpful and reassuring. We were given an arrival window and scheduled work date in the job estimate email after calling to schedule, and additional text communication day of when they were actually on their way was provided so we weren't stuck waiting around and wondering. Worth noting Geno had to prioritize an unexpected followup repair for an existing customer before starting our job, causing a delay and pushing our start time out a little, but he communicated his delay via text. This showed us that he stands by both his work and customers, even on a Saturday. The costs for both the consultation and repair work were presented before work began and a signature/click of approval was required to approve work and proceed, which was helpful to avoid surprises. All terms are clearly listed and easy to understand in the estimate email and on the estimates, which included some what if scenarios in case our brittle 40+ year old pvc cracked. The work site was left clean of debris, he even took our broken PVC away. Thanks Geno!

These folks were responsive. Gino explained the problem with my hot water heater, fixed it quickly, then gave me some useful advice regarding ongoing care. They will be my first call if I have any plumbing needs in the future.

By the time Geno showed up at my house he had already had a long Saturday of helping people without heat with minus temperatures outside. He walking through the options with me, step by step, and got right to work. He was able to get us heat and I even received a follow up call the next day making sure everything was good. Awesome working with this professional plumber!!

It was great to find a company that is enthusiastic about their work and also knowledgeable and competent. Geno was happy to help with our problem. He even went further than the boiler company's recommendation of buying a descaling kit. He explained that he doesn't like to use the harsh chemicals in those, and he was able to patiently descale the line using vinegar. He knew right away what the problem was likely to be and he was right. Our hot water works better now than it has for a long time. We have had other people work on our system and none of them were either as happy to help or as familiar with the boiler. Also the company is very efficient and reliable at scheduling and reminders, more like a doctor's office than a plumbing company.

Geno is so very nice, but most importantly he is extremely knowledgeable in his profession. He takes the time to talk with you, answer questions and explain as much as you want to learn. Keeps in touch for scheduling and ETAs. You can tell he is passionate about his work in the detail and quality of the finished product. 5 is not enough stars.

Ive been living in Juneau for four years now. Every year before winter, I stress out about my oil boiler and the need to have it cleaned and serviced. Can I get a quick appointment? Is the quote going to be reasonable? Will the technician be on time? Am I going to learn a little more about that scary contraption? This year, thanks to Taku Plumbing and Geno, the answer to all four questions was a resounding YES! I learned a whole lot about my archaic heat machine. Geno is so knowledgeable. The day of the appointment was stressless as Geno arrived on time, ready to go. The costs were on a par with other quotes I got when I did initial research. And, the customer service before, during and after my appointment was top notch. It is going to be a great winter!

Taku Plumbing was very responsive during the winter storm in Juneau when our hot water boiler system went out. He troubleshot the issue in 60mph winds on a weekend!! Completely amazed by the customer service!! Price is reasonable and the service is amazing. He found a clog in the line and replaced it then found the other part out. He was super clear in his explanations and what he was doing. Highly recommend!!
